An Independent Oral & Maxillofacial Evaluation, also known as an Independent Dental Evaluation, will examine oral and maxillofacial musculoskeletal, bony and tooth-related structure, function and ability to determine causality and whether any identified disorder can be attributed to the subject accident. Typical to this evaluation is the determination of Temporomandibular Joint Disorder or TMJ which covers acute or chronic inflammation of the Temporomandibular joint that connects the mandible to the skull.
